Using Your Time

Have you ever tracked your minutes?

Really, honestly analyzed how you spend your day?

It's incredibly revealing. I've mentioned before how much I love 168 Hours by Laura Vanderkam. I've finally managed to sit down and finish the book. (And I've heard that she's coming out with a finances book that I will definitely be checking out)

Among other little gems, I realized that my habit of leaving the tv on as background noise meant that my little guy was watching a lot more tv than I realized. He and I had more direct interaction than Vanderkam cites is typical in her book, but that might have more to do with the fact that he is determined to get into anything dangerous than my parenting style.

It made me much more aware of how often I wasted time by walking around my house in circles- literally. Just doing the little picking up, putting away and sorting eats huge chunks of my day. While having a toddler makes it impossible to have a completely clean house, I know that I NEED a neat house to feel ok. Clutter messes with my mind. So, my allocated Pinterest time while I'm visiting family in the Northwest is going to be dedicated to finding small space storage inspiration.

Do you have an fabulous ways for corraling clutter? Maybe an idea you've been meaning to work on?
