Next week things are going to get a little busier around our home. On the advice of his speech therapist, among others, my little guy is going to be starting a preschool program. This means that while I'm going to have some kiddo free time to myself, our mornings are going to need to be much more structured.
I really dislike having a rushed, disorganized morning. There's just something about that first hour or so that really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Have you found that? When you feel rushed and behind it doesn't matter whether you are actually late or not- you still feel on edge and off?
It's been quite a while since my mornings had any real structure other than ArmyMan's schedule. While I'm a morning person, a toddler has a way of keeping things unpredictable. If I have something I have to get done, I usually get up early and take care of it before Monkey gets up.
A new priority for this year is going to be a nutritious, whole foods breakfast that doesn't leave me scrambling to get out of this house on time. I'm thinking some experimentation with breakfast casseroles and overnight slow cooker breakfasts are in order!
If you have an easy, favorite breakfast feel free to share!
