I have always loved having a beautiful home- not big, not grand, not new. Just beautiful.

Primal eating in a SAD kitchen
One of the most significant challenges in my journey to healthy eating is how to handle eating away from home. As a military family, we usually have to travel to spend time with our friends and families. Those trips can put the Primal eater in a tight spot. Eat with your loved ones or stick to Primal.
I'll be spending most of this month visiting my family in the North West. On the one hand it is an opportunity to have incredible access to a huge range of Primal friendly foods that are normally out of reach from mid Missouri. On the other hand, I'm surrounded by family traditions and habits that involve food that is far from the primal ideals. My busy parents rely heavily on packaged foods and prepared ingredients.
I'm choosing to make the best of it. Yesterday, I realized that one of the local markets down the straight carries multiple Kerrygold butters and cheeses- which I've been having to order online. There is a fabulous butcher shop in town that I've really been missing. I've offered to do some of the dinner cooking, showing them some of the recipes I've been working on.
Other days, I'm just going to embrace the time with family, food and all.
